Right after OFFERING best-in-class products, the next-most important thing is DELIVERING those products to your door quickly, and safely. Power scooters and lift chairs are a particular challenge because they're so large and heavy. As it happens, we're experts in delivery too.
It might surprise you to learn that most of the online sellers of power scooters (even some of the companies you might think of as "big guys"), do not, in fact operate their own warehouses. Instead, they count on the manufacturer to ship the scooter.
Why we have our own warehouse
Operating our own warehouse means that we get to be the last person to touch your scooter before it arrives at your door. We get to make sure that the scooter coming your way is perfect in every way. Jacksonville, Florida is strategic for us because in partnership with our primary carrier, Federal Express, it means that we can deliver a scooter next day pretty much anywhere in Florida, Georgia and parts of Alabama. If you happen to be located in sunny California or not-so-sunny but still beautiful Portland Oregon, you're not going to wait any longer than five days. You'll get a great price on your scooter and you won't pay for delivery either.
What you're going to receive is a product we'll be proud to have our badge on and you will never pay more for it.
There isn't much to getting a new Drive Medical or Pride Mobility scooter going. But you might be a customer who needs some help with getting your new scooter ready to ride or setting the back on your lift chair. Scooters will come to you mostly assembled and we make sure the battery is charged before you get it. But you or a caregiver will have to unbox it and then lift the battery pack and seat into place. You'll also have to get rid of a pretty large shipping carton, packaging materials and the like.
What is a FedEx Delivery like?
Since you'll need to sign for your scooter, folks often ask us if they can schedule the delivery of their scooter so they'll be sure to be home. Or they'll ask where on their property will FedEx bring their scooter to. FedEx says they'll deliver anytime between 9 AM and 8 PM, although drivers usually want to get these large cartons off their trucks earlier rather than later. They'll generally bring it to the front door where packages are customarily delivered and where it can be signed for. If you live in an apartment building, it's going to depend on how packages are received at your building. They'll at least bring it into the building, so you can sign for it. You might be able to get the driver to bring it to the garage door instead of the front door, etc. especially if you're polite about it but there's no way to know for sure.

For $199.95, your scooter or lift chair will be assembled before it's even delivered to you. Then, our delivery agent will call you to make a delivery appointment. When they show up, your scooter will have been unboxed, the battery topped off and will be ready for you to ride immediately. Your lift chair will be brought to the room of your choice. You will not even have to dispose of cardboard and packaging materials.
