ANSWER: At Living Well Stores, sales tax is applied to purchases in California only. If you are purchasing a Medical Mobility device, CA tax maybe waived with documentation from a medical professional. Contact our team about details for what documentation is accepted at 800-704-8432.

QUESTION: Will this fit in the back of my car?

ANSWER: Many lightweight mobility scooters like the Drive Medical Scout or Phoenix or the Pride Mobility GoGo line are designed to break into pieces for easy transportation in your vehicle. There are also several lightweight Pride Mobility options if you are looking for an easy to transport power wheelchair. QUESTION: Can I try it before buying?

ANSWER: Living Well Stores is an online retailer and does not have a physical store where you can test drive or try scooters, wheelchairs, or Lift Chairs prior to purchase. We recommend customers call us at 800-704-8432 to discuss their needs so we can identify the best scooter options available for their situation.

QUESTION: Do we price match other dealers?

ANSWER: We do have a price match program. All you need to do is share a detailed quote or photo from the seller you'd like us to price match. As long as we can offer exactly what the other dealer is offering, we can finalize a price match.

QUESTION: What is White Glove Inside Delivery and set up and how long does it take to receive the item?

ANSWER: Choose White Glove delivery if you would like to have your mobility scooter, power wheel chair, or lift chair delivered fully assembled and inside your home. Because the shipment is initally delivered to a network provider who does the unpacking and assembly, it could add 7 to 10 days to the process before your item is delivered to you.

QUESTION: What is curbside delivery and how long does it take to receive the item?

ANSWER: Curbside delivery is standard delivery for larger items that are shipped by Freight carrier. Essentially, the carrier shipping your item drops it off "curbside" or the most convienient location for the truck. That could mean your driveway or, more likely, the curb at the street.

QUESTION: Are these really made in the USA or assembled with parts from overseas?

ANSWER: Products we offer that display the "Made in America" labeling, are assembled in the US using parts that come from all over the world including America.

QUESTION: Can I drive this on my gravel driveway/over my lawn?

ANSWER: Not all power mobility products can handle rougher surfaces like gravel, rocks, or even grass. Genrally, if you are looking for a scooter that can handle a surfaces other than flat, man-made surfaces, we'd suggest a scooter with larger wheels or one that is built for rougher terrain. QUESTION: Do I need tools to set up my mobility product?

ANSWER: All power mobility products - power scooters, power wheelchairs, and lift chairs- require some assembly. You'll need a box cutter to remove any packaging. You might also want a set of pliers or a wrench on hand to tighten any bolts.

QUESTION: Can I take my scooter/powerchair on an airplane?

ANSWER: Most transportable scooters and wheelchairs can be brought on a plane. It's best to check with your airline about their rules and best practices prior to flying.

QUESTION: What kind of accessories do you have for power scooters or wheelchairs?

ANSWER: We offer a wide selection of accessories for power scooters and power wheelchairs including storage bags, baskets, cup holders, and a variety of items designed for carrying other mobility aides like walkers or canes. QUESTION: How long do the batteries typically last before I need a new pair?

ANSWER: Battery replacement will vary by customer and is dependant on the type of battery (SLA or Lithium-ion), how frequently you use the scooter and how often you charge the battery. We see many frequent users needing new batteries within 2 to 3 years. You may find that you need a replacement earlier than that or possibly later depending on your usage. While batteries age, you can expect some minor changes in range. But if you find that the distance you can ride is quite short or the battery is losing charge quickly, give our team a call. We will guide you through a series of questions to gather data to determine if you need a replacement.

QUESTION: What is the maximum climbing angle for hills or ramps?

ANSWER: Power wheelchairs and Mobility scooters are designed to perform best on inclines of about 6 degrees - or the standard ADA approved ramp incline.

QUESTION: Are replacement batteries easy to find and reasonably priced?

ANSWER: Your medical mobility scooter or power wheelchair from Living Well Stores comes with the Living Well Stores 5 year extended warranty that covers the batteries. If you need a replacement battery, just call our team or send us an email to [email protected] to start the warranty process.

QUESTION: Will Medicare, Medicaid, or insurance cover part or all of the cost?

ANSWER: The short answer is that insurance rarely pays for mobility products. We have also heard from customers who were told by their insurance carriers that their scooter or powerchair would be covered and to "just submit the required documentation". But after several rounds of submission/"we just need one more piece of information", the purchaser is told that it isn't covered. The actual process for filing for insurance reimbursement is so complicated and cumbersome that more than 99 pct of all scooters and powerchairs you see in use today were paid for in full by their owner's or a family member. Living Well Stores is able to offer the best prices and warranty in part, because we don't process insurance claims.

QUESTION: What is the return or trial policy if my mobility product turns out to be unsuitable for me?

ANSWER: We encourage customers to call our experienced and helpful team to discuss their product needs to ensure they are selecting the best fit for them. We also encourage customers to be sure that the product they decide on will fit their lifestyle and their space. Once a mobility scooter, power wheelchair, or lift chair is shipped, the item is no longer returnable. Be sure your item is what you need and will fit for where you need it go before buying. Of course, if the item arrives damaged or not working, call us right away and we'll get you taken care of.

QUESTION: Should I add White Glove delivery to my order?

ANSWER: If you have restrictions on how much you can lift or other mobility issues that would make it difficult to unbox and assesmble a Mobility Scooter, Power Wheelchair, or Lift Chair, then White Glove would be a great addition to your order. We highly recommend this added service for Power Wheelchair purchases as the wiring connections can be fragile or easily pinched. It's best to protect your valuable item by enlisting a professional to do the assembly.

QUESTION: How long should I charge my battery?

ANSWER: Best practice for charging a Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) battery is to charge for 10 to 12 hrs. Charge daily if you use it daily. Or, if you use it less frequently, then be sure to fully charge at least twice a week. Even over winter or in storage the scooter battery must be charged twice a week. Scooters with Lithium Ion batteries do still need to be charged but can withstand shorter charge periods. Both types of batteries do need regular charging.

QUESTION: Can I use my scooter ot wheelchair both inside and outside?

ANSWER: You will want to think carefully about how you will use your scooter or wheelchair before you purchase. Are you needing your power mobility product for occassional use or regular use? Do you need to use it inside your home daily or only for appointments or travel? If you are wanting to use the item inside, you will want to check measurements and the turn radius of the mobility product and ensure that it will fit in your home. Measure your doorways, hallways, and around your furniture to determine if the item will be useable inside. Many scooter users realize that they need more space inside to move between rooms and through doorways for a scooter to be effective. Often, power wheelchairs, which are design to move indoors, are a better choice if your main need is inside usage. If your greater need is outside use then you will want to consider the terrain and transport of the item you choose. If you determine a mobility scooter is a better choice, do consider transportablility and size to ensure the product you choose will meet the majority of your needs. QUESTION: Will battery performance decrease significantly in extreme weather?

ANSWER: You may find that battery performance does decrease under certain conditions, extreme weather being one such condition. Very cold (below 50) or very high (above 80) temperatures may tax the battery causing it to drain faster.
