Recently, Consumer Reports expanded its testing to include power mobility scooters, an important category of medical mobility equipment that helps seniors and individuals with mobility challenges maintain independence. In their most recent testing, two long-established mobility scooters rose to the top of the rankings: Drive Medical's Spitfire Scout Luxury Travel Scooter and Pride Mobility's Go Go Elite Traveller 2 Platinum Scooter.

Consumer Reports tested mobility scooters without evaluating long-term serviceability, leaving buyers vulnerable when their Chinese white-label scooters inevitably break down with no US repair network to turn to.
